When to book a diagnostic check
- The check engine light is on. If it’s flashing, that usually means a misfire: drive gently and have it checked soon.
- Another warning light is on, such as ABS, airbag, glow plug or DPF. If the temperature or oil pressure light comes on, stop driving.
- The vehicle runs rough, hesitates, loses power or goes into limp mode.
- Fuel consumption has jumped for no obvious reason.
A fault code is a starting point
A fault code points to the system or sensor that reported a problem, not always to the part that has failed. For example, an oxygen sensor code can be caused by an exhaust leak ahead of the sensor rather than by the sensor itself. A workshop that also does exhaust work can check and fix that in the same visit.

Getting it checked
Feel free to drop us a WhatsApp and see how we can help. It helps to include your vehicle’s make, model, year and mileage, a photo of the warning lights on the dash, and when the problem happens: cold starts, under load, at speed or all the time.
